설명

From the Movies

One of the burly percussionists that accompanied the Max Rebo Band, Ak-rev is a grim-faced Weequay with a sense of rhythm.

From the Expanded Universe

Originally from Sriluur's capital city of Al-Campur, Ak-rev studied in a monastery devoted to the Weequay god of thunder, Am-Shak.

An orphan, Ak-rev spent time in the urban sprawl of Al-Campur, where he entered the underworld of crime through a street gang. He became proficient in a number of forms of hand-to-hand combat. Throughout his young punk days, Ak-rev still tithed a percentage of his money to Am-Shak and the monastery. The monks were his only solace and playing the temple drums his only joy.

When not in the monastery, Ak-rev would often find violence. He was distrustful of any non-Weequay, which led to an ill-advised brawl against Gamorrean Guards in Jabba the Hutt's employ while on a trip to nearby Tatooine. The Hutt was impressed with Ak-rev's tenacity, and hired him on as one of his many bodyguards. Though the Hutt repulsed Ak-rev, he accepted, since there were enough Weequays in Jabba's palace that he felt at home.

Jabba was witness to one of Ak-rev's drumming performances, and immediately recommended him to be part of Max Rebo's Band. He and Umpass-stay would occasionally play the drum as back-up to the core performers of the group.

After Jabba's death, he and Umpass-stay left the palace and headed for Mos Eisley. En route, they were ambushed by Tusken Raiders. The Sand People had long hated the Jabba's Weequays, as some of them had taken to sacrificial slaughter of Tusken Raider banthas. The Raiders returned the favor by beating Ak-rev to death.

Behind the Scenes

Ak-rev was added to the Max Rebo Band scene for the Return of the Jedi: Special Edition. The drumming performed by Ak-Rev and Umpass-stay is derived from the Japanese art of Taiko drumming.
